Community Infrastructure

I will always fight for better community infrastructure, because I believe it benefits the entire community. It helps keep people active and engaged and keep kids off the street and mentored by older people.

Quarry Reserve Upgrades

First stage upgrades to Quarry Reserve in Upper Gully are now complete! This is a hidden gem in Knox and worth a visit.

I made an election commitment of of $1.7 million last year, which has now been used by

Knox City Council to build the new nature based playground, BBQ and picnic areas, fishing platforms, safety fencing and extra parking.
Further improvement will include toilets and a city lookout.

Community Hub at Fairpark Reserve

The concept designs for the new Fairpark Reserve community hub in Ferntree Gully have been released and they look sensational! This was an election commitment of mine and it’s great to see it progressing. $3m of federal funding has been secured for the project which will include a new multi-purpose facility, refurbishment of the existing U3A building and extra parking. Construction is expected to start in early 2021.

Indian Community Centre

$2.5 million has been committed to help build a community centre for our local Indian community.

Indoor Netball Courts at Knox Netball Centre

Upgrades to the Knox Netball Centre are powering ahead. COVID has caused some delays, but progress has still been made on building two new indoor courts, seating for 300 spectators, an extra 180 car parks and a general facelift.

This was an election commitment of mine and it’s great to see it progressing. I secured $4m of federal funding to kickstart the upgrades and the state government and Knox Council are also making significant contributions with council managing the construction.

Construction is expected to be complete in mid-2022.

Rowville Knights

Rowville Knights Pavilion Development

The new female changerooms at Liberty Reserve in Rowville are officially open!
At the last election I committed $450,000 to get this built. With 5 girls teams and growing, this much needed facility is a terrific investment in the future of female participation in women’s footy!
Carrington Park

Carrington Park Ground Lighting

The lighting at Carrington Park has now been upgraded with  the $300,000 of federal funding I helped secure. This is allowing Scoresby Magpies Juniors and Knoxfield Knights Cricket Club to play at night.

Tormore Reserve Lighting Upgrades

Lighting has been upgraded at Tormore Reserve in Boronia with a $190,000 grant I secured. This will allow the Boronia Hawks to expand their women’s football program and use the ground for longer hours.


Ferntree Gully Bowling Club greens lighting

Lighting on the greens at Ferntree Gully Bowling Club has now been upgraded using $130,000 of federal funding I helped secure. This is assisting the club to expand their night-time competitions.

1000 steps

Access improvements for 1000 steps

$300,000 has been set aside to investigate, design and find a solution to the parking issues at the 1,000 steps.
