Community Infrastructure

I will always fight for better community infrastructure, because I believe it benefits the entire community. It helps keep people active and engaged and keep kids off the street and mentored by older people.

Quarry Reserve Upgrades

First stage upgrades to Quarry Reserve in Upper Gully are now complete! This is a hidden gem in Knox and worth a visit.

I made an election commitment of of $1.7 million last year, which has now been used by

Knox City Council to build the new nature based playground, BBQ and picnic areas, fishing platforms and safety fencing.
Further improvement will include extra parking, toilets and a city lookout.

Community Hub at Fairpark Reserve

The $3 million of funding for a new multipurpose community hub at Fairpark Reserve in Ferntree Gully has been formally signed off and locked in.

Indian Community Centre

$2.5 million has been committed to help build a community centre for our local Indian community.

Indoor Netball Courts at Knox Netball Centre

$4 million has been secured to build two new indoor courts at Knox netball centre to accommodate the 6000 people that visit the centre every week and in excess of 10,000 during competition finals as well as special events.

The plans and concept designs for the new centre have been released and they look great!

Construction is expected to commence late next year.
Rowville Knights

Rowville Knights Pavilion Development

$450,000 has been secured to redevelop the pavilion at Liberty Reserve. The redevelopment will include female change rooms, social rooms and storage.

Carrington Park

Carrington Park Ground Lighting

The lighting at Carrington Park has now been upgraded with  the $300,000 of federal funding I helped secure. This is allowing Scoresby Magpies Juniors and Knoxfield Knights Cricket Club to play at night.

Tormore Reserve Lighting Upgrades

Lighting has been upgraded at Tormore Reserve in Boronia with a $190,000 grant I secured. This will allow the Boronia Hawks to expand their women’s football program and use the ground for longer hours.


Ferntree Gully Bowling Club greens lighting

Lighting on the greens at Ferntree Gully Bowling Club has now been upgraded using $130,000 of federal funding I helped secure. This is assisting the club to expand their night-time competitions.

1000 steps

Access improvements for 1000 steps

$300,000 has been set aside to investigate, design and find a solution to the parking issues at the 1,000 steps.
