The Federal Member for Aston, Hon Alan Tudge MP, has announced $68,000 to fix a notorious road blackspot in Boronia.
The intersection of Colchester Road and Beresford Drive at Boronia will receive $68,000 to upgrade and improve the existing auxiliary right turn into a channalised right turn.
“As part of the Turnbull Liberal Team, I have long-been committed to fighting for, and delivering funding to improve safety on local roads,” Mr Tudge said.
“The Colchester Road and Beresford Drive intersection has been recognised by locals as a site where accidents have occurred in the past or through their own near misses.
“I look forward to seeing this upgrade carried out and will also be fighting for additional funding to support further upgrades for our local roads.”
The Turnbull Liberal Team has committed $500 million to the Black Spot Programme from 2014?15 to 2018-19, including an additional $200 million over two years from 2015-16 to improve road safety and infrastructure across the country.
The Turnbull Liberal Team has also provided record funding for the Roads to Recovery Programme to support local councils to upgrade and maintain the local road network.
Mr Tudge said on top of today’s announcement the Turnbull Liberal Team was also providing $4.6 million to Knox Council between 2014-15 and 2018-19 to support the maintenance and upgrading of local roads.
