The Federal Member for Aston, the Hon Alan Tudge MP, has announced the delivery of mobile security cameras for Knox Police.
This was one of several election commitments Mr Tudge made before the 2013 election to improve community safety.
Twenty thousand dollars has been provided to Knox Police for the purchase of the mobile security cameras.
These cameras will enable Knox Police to monitor local crime hot sports as they arise, becoming another important tool in the effort to stamp out crime.
“This is a key election commitment of mine to be now funded and delivered,” said Mr Tudge.
“The mobile security cameras are absolutely necessary to help provide a safer community in Knox.
“Knox Police will now be able to deploy these mobile security cameras to crime hot spots across Knox as required.
“The mobile cameras, in conjunction with the fixed cameras at Mountain Gate, Wantirna Mall and Studfield, will help to deter crime and provide police a valuable resource to track down criminals,” said Mr Tudge.
Other local safety initiatives committed at the last election continue to be implemented including security cameras at Wantirna Mall, Mountain Gate and Studfield Shops, and better lighting at Scoresby Village and Alchester Village.
