Federal Member for Aston Alan Tudge MP has helped local kinder kids celebrate National Tree day last Friday at Lakewood Childcare and Kindergarten Centre in Knoxfield.
National Tree Day is coordinated by Planet Ark to provide people with an opportunity to do something positive for the environment and reconnect with nature. Throughout Australia over 20 million seeds were planted as part of National Tree Day.
Lakewood Childcare and Kindergarten Centre in Knoxfield celebrated the day by giving youngsters the opportunities to plant trees and vegies at the centre.
Mr Tudge took part in the festivities and helped show local kinder students how to properly plant and look after a tree.
“It’s great to encourage our young ones to look after our environment from an early age,” Mr Tudge said.
“National Tree day is a great, fun event that locals all throughout Knox have taken part in.”
“Something as simple as planting a tree can show the value of the environment to our kids that will stick with them for a lifetime,” he said.
