As part of the Stronger Communities Programme, non-profit community groups are eligible to apply for grants between $2,500 and $20,000 for a small capital project. All grants must be matched with contributions, in cash or in kind, on at least a dollar for dollar basis.
In the previous four rounds, 73 community groups in Knox have been successful in their submissions which provided items such as kitchen oven, heater, storage shed, curtains to flood lighting and even a small bus.
We are asking that organisations submit an Expression of Interest form outlining a capital project you would like a grant to go towards. Submitted Expression of Interest forms will then be analysed by a local grants consultative committee which I will chair.
If your submission is identified as a priority project which appears to meet the programme guidelines, you will then be invited to submit a formal application for funding to the Department of Infrastructure for their approval.
Expressions of Interest must be received by my office by 5pm 30 August 2019, with priority applicants informed by 11 September 2019. Priority applicants will then be supplied with a link & required to submit a formal application to the Department of Infrastructure by 10 October 2019 for approval.
If your project involves a Knox Council asset, you may wish to discuss it with the Council first.
Please download the Expression of Interest form and email to Glynis in my office at firstname.lastname@example.org before 5pm 30 August 2019.
