EastLink Trail and Koomba Park in Wantirna, became the centre of activity on Sunday 24 October 2010, with a great turnout for the Paws for a Cause event held to raise funds to support local community programs for the aged, frail and people with a disability.
Federal Member for Aston, Alan Tudge MP, joined the two and four legged walkers along with his young daughters Kristen and Cassie, before participating as guest judge for competitions for the best dressed dog, the dog and owner look-alikes, and the cutest puppy.
Mr Tudge said, “It’s great to see so much support from families throughout the local community for such a deserving cause. Bridges is a terrific organization that, through it’s volunteer network, supports thousands of local residents in need.
“Paws for a Cause is a great day out for families and it gives people a great opportunity to get out and enjoy their local community, to meet their neighbours and to know they are doing something really good to help others in their local community. I was really pleased to be able to participate,” Mr Tudge said.
