It is with deep sadness that I learnt of the passing of Councillor David Cooper.
He was a passionate advocate for our local Knox community as a councillor for over a decade and as Mayor of Knox for two terms. David and his family have been part of the Knox community since 1979.
David had a great ability to communicate with everybody, no matter the issue. He always made the extra effort to represent his community.
He fought hard to deliver the things that mattered to Knox.
Many of our important local facilities including Knox Gardens, Walker Reserve, the State Basketball Centre and the Knox Warm Water Pool exist today thanks to David’s hard work.
Along with many Knox residents, I feel a deep sense of loss with the passing of one of our true community leaders.
My thoughts are with David’s wife, Tracy, and their two children, Rhys and Holly.
May he be at peace.
