The Federal Member for Aston, the Hon Alan Tudge MP, today announced St Andrews Christian College in Wantirna South has been awarded $750,000 for construction of a new senior school building.
As part of the Commonwealth Government’s Capital Grants Programme (CGP), St Andrews will receive a $750,000 grant for Stage 1 of Building B. The building will include eight general learning areas, an open learning area, three staff offices, a storage area, and student amenities.
The school is contributing a further $2.7 million, with the total project cost estimated to be $3.47 million.
“St Andrews has made a great impact on our local community in the short time it has been here,” said Mr Tudge.
“This grant will allow it to continue to develop and grow.
“I congratulate Catriona Wansbrough, the school principal, and her team for their ongoing success,” said Mr Tudge.
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education, Senator the Hon Scott Ryan who is responsible for the Capital Grants Programme, said the programme provides funding for non-government school communities to assist schools to improve capital infrastructure where they otherwise may not have access to sufficient capital resources.
“I congratulate St Andrews Christian College for their commitment to improving the opportunities for their students.
“Through our Students First approach, we are building a world-class education system to equip all students to succeed in an increasingly competitive world.”
