The Federal Member for Aston, Hon Alan Tudge MP, has announced a major election commitment to provide $4.5 million in federal funding to construct the missing bridge for Henderson Road in Rowville.
There is currently no bridge connecting the two sections of Henderson Road in Rowville, with the only north-south connection from Rowville to Knox via Stud Road.
The $4.5 million in federal funding would build the missing north-south connection on Henderson Road over the Corrhanwarrabul Creek, linking Rowville to Knoxfield through a new road connection.
“A new bridge to connect Rowville to Knoxfield will provide a vital second north-south road crossing.” Mr Tudge said.
“This is a practical commitment that is part of my campaign to deliver better roads and infrastructure for Knox.”
“The bridge has been on the map of Knox for decades as an idea, but we will ensure that the bridge is finally built and delivered.”
The bridge would be constructed by Knox Council.
