The Federal Member for Aston, the Hon Alan Tudge MP, today welcomed a new Australian Hearing service to Boronia.
Australian Hearing provides a wide range of services including; assessing hearing, fitting hearing devices, and providing counselling and rehabilitation programs to help individuals with complex hearing rehabilitation needs.
Australian Hearing’s audiologists will provide hearing services once a month, at Cypress Health in Boronia, complimenting existing health services already provided at the Clinic. The dates the visiting service will be available are: 27/3, 10/4, 1/5, 5/6.
Australian Hearing also provides assistance electronically through their phone and web chat ‘Hearing Help’ facility, which makes their services more accessible for many Australians.
Mr Tudge said that the new visiting centre will complement other hearing services in Knox which are administered by Australian Hearing.
“They have already done tremendous work nationally – now they will be able to do much more locally,” Mr Tudge said.
“The new facility will make it easier for Knox locals, especially in Boronia to access hearing care facilities.
“One in six Australians currently experiences some sort of hearing loss, and this figure is expected to grow to one in four by 2050, it is important to get clear advice and support if you or a loved one are having issues with hearing.”
Australian Hearing will also be visiting Bayswater as part of their National Hearing Bus Tour, offering free hearing checks and raising hearing health awareness on 29 March between 9:00am and 4:00pm.
There is also a permanent Australian Hearing Care clinic at Westfield Knox open between 8:30am and 5:00pm Mondays to Fridays.
