Federal Member for Aston Alan Tudge MP has today used a speech in Parliament to urge local residents to get on board Knox Relay for Life.
Taking place at the Knox Athletics Track, the Relay for Life will begin on Saturday March 23rd and conclude on Sunday March 24th. Teams involved will complete an 18 hour run, jog or walking relay. Each team and individual raises funds to go towards the work of the Cancer Council.
As the patron of this year’s event Mr Tudge is leading his own team of supporting to raise money for the cause.
Mr Tudge said the Knox Relay for life was on track to be a successful event but would still need the continued support from the local community.
“The Knox Relay for Life is a fantastic fundraising event for my community which will raise much needed funds for the Victorian Cancer Council.”
“As a community we must do all we can to support the efforts of organisations which support cancer suffers and invests into research.”
“I encourage all locals to get involved by either donating or signing up to this important event.”
