Ecotech, a Knox-based environmental manufacturing business, was this week recognised as one of Australia’s strongest export businesses at the 51st Australian Export Awards.
The Member for Aston, The Hon Alan Tudge MP, congratulated Ecotech on their award and for the company’s important contribution to the local and national economy.
Based in Knoxfield, Ecotech manufactures a variety of environmental monitoring solutions, including air quality monitors, emissions monitoring systems, air samplers and data systems.
The company has rapidly grown over the past 35 years to export all around the world including the Americas, Africa, Europe and Asia, employing 80 staff in the Knoxfield head-office.
Ecotech was recognised as the winner in the ‘Environmental Solutions’ category, due to the company’s strengths in innovation, marketing strategy, export growth and competitive advantage.
“Ecotech is a vital Knox employer, and I am proud to see that our strong local businesses are receiving national recognition for their contributions to the Australian and local economies.
“The hard work of Ecotech has led to the company becoming one of the key designers and manufacturers of monitoring systems in the world,” said Mr Tudge.
Ecotech was one of 12 winners announced at the awards, selected from 76 finalists. Together, the finalists employ 22,000 people and created export earnings of $9 billion last financial year.
“I congratulate Ecotech for winning such a prestigious award,” Mr Tudge said.
