The Federal Member for Aston, the Hon Alan Tudge MP, today joined the Foreign Minister, the Hon Julie Bishop MP, to discuss community concerns and celebrate Chinese New Year.
Mr Tudge hosted a community forum with Ms Bishop as the special guest at the Knox Club with over 200 local residents.
Ms Bishop and Mr Tudge then attended a morning tea to celebrate Chinese New Year at the Chinese Association of Victoria in Wantirna with over 250 locals from the Chinese community.
The Foreign Minister and Mr Tudge took a variety of questions on local and national issues including jobs, aged care, asylum seekers and education.
“It was terrific to hear from so many local residents about issues that matter to them,” said Mr Tudge.
“The Chinese morning tea was a great way to celebrate the start of the Year of the Goat with our local Chinese community.”
“As your local member of parliament, your feedback is invaluable for me to fight for the issues that matter to you,” said Mr Tudge.
Ms Bishop welcomed the opportunity to hear a range of views from the community about the issues discussed.
