The Federal Member for Aston, the Hon Alan Tudge MP, is encouraging local businesses to apply for funding support to boost the skills of their workforce.
Under the new Industry Skills Fund, businesses can apply for financial support for upskilling and further training of their workforce and/or for skills advice to help identify training opportunities that will help the business grow.
The Industry Skills Fund is a $476 million vocational education and training (VET) reform designed to help businesses with training places and skills over the next four years.
Businesses wanting support to train workers will be required to make a contribution between 25 and 75 per cent to the cost of training. The co-contribution rate depends on the number of employees, with smaller businesses receiving higher levels of support.
Mr Tudge said the funding support could significantly assist businesses in Knox.
“Businesses in Knox can now receive government support to boost the skills and training of their staff.”
“Employers will be supported to decide what training is needed in their business and which training provider they want to work with.”
“Businesses can receive confirmation of their funding application within a couple of weeks, meaning their staff can be trained quicker and help boost business sooner with their new skills.”
“Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis so I encourage local Knox business to apply,” said Mr Tudge.
