The Federal Member for Aston, Hon Alan Tudge MP, and Assistant Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Hon Jamie Briggs MP, today announced funding of $81,900 to fix four dangerous Napoleon Road black spots in Rowville.
The approved projects for Rowville will see exclusive right turn lanes built for Napoleon Road at the intersections of Affleck Way, Teofilo Drive, Anthony Drive and Bark Avenue.
These projects were recommended by a panel of independent road safety experts and will be delivered during the course of the coming financial year (2014-15).
Mr Tudge said this investment in the Black Spot project will deliver a safer Napoleon Road for Rowville.
“These four turning lanes are badly needed and will reduce accidents and help with traffic flow. Napoleon is busy road and this funding will make a real difference.
“Anyone can suggest an intersection or stretch of road they believe should be considered for a safety upgrade under the Blackspot funding program ,” Mr Tudge said.

A recent evaluation of the programme found that fatal and casualty crashes are reduced at treated sites by 30%, equalling one life per year for every 84 projects.
