The Federal Member for Aston, the Hon Alan Tudge MP, is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for Aston Community Awards.
The Aston Community Awards celebrate local volunteers, businesses and community groups who give their time, skill and energy to helping others and making the Knox community a better place to live.
Mr Tudge said that he is pleased to be able to honour the hard work of local Knox volunteers, which all too often goes unnoticed.
“We have some outstanding volunteers in our community, and the Aston Community Awards are a chance to recognise them,” said Mr Tudge.
“It is important that we properly thank these individuals for all of their work.”
Mr Tudge said that the Aston Community Awards will recognise local volunteers in five categories: Youth Volunteer Achievement Award, Individual Volunteer Achievement Award, Community Group Achievement Award, Business Achievement Award and Senior Volunteer Achievement Award.
The Aston Community Awards ceremony will be held on Friday the 29 August, 2014.
Nominating is a simple, five minute process and self-nominations are welcome. Nominations open on 7 July 2014 will close on the 8 August 2014.
Nomination forms can be completed on Mr Tudge’s website at www.alantudge.com.au or by contacting his office on (03) 9887 3890.
