Alan Tudge MP, Federal Member for Aston said Australia Day is a day to reflect on our achievements as a nation.
“I love Australia Day in Knox, particularly welcoming our newest citizens,” said Mr Tudge
“The citizenship ceremonies, community celebrations and backyard BBQs make it one of the best days of the year”, said Mr Tudge.
“I’m also looking forward to the Knox Australia Awards and also speaking at a local retirement village and other community events.”
Mr Tudge said the recent bushfires were a reminder that we are at our best as a community when we look out for each other.
“Australia is always at its best when we share our successes, and support and encourage each other as Australians.
“All of our Knox community organisations from our sporting clubs and environmental groups to our emergency services volunteers, are reminders of everything good about our area.”
“Our nation is not perfect, but we can mighty proud of what we have achieved. I am optimistic that the best is in front of us.”
