The Federal Member for Aston, Hon Alan Tudge MP, said that the Coalition has set aside over $1.5 million in funding for local sporting facilities, fulfilling his election commitments.
As part of the newly established Community Development Grants Program, 12 different Knox sporting infrastructure projects have been funded in the federal budget on Tuesday night.
In announcing the funding, Mr Tudge said it was great news for Knox.
“I firmly believe that sporting facilities are good investments for the entire community. It keeps people active and kids engaged and off the street.
“Importantly, the clubs are often places for younger generations to be mentored by older ones.
“There are many facilities which require upgrades to keep up with demand. This federal contribution won’t solve all the problems, but will make a difference.”
Funding is now available to deliver Knox sporting infrastructure projects, with work expected to begin on many projects this calendar year.
