Local teacher careers ahead Chris Kynoch, a teacher at Waverly Christian College, has recently been awarded a Scholarship for his valuable work in providing career advice to young people in Ferntree Gully.
Federal Member for Aston, Alan Tudge MP, congratulated Mr Kynoch for receiving this award.
Mr Tudge said, “Career counseling for young people is extremely important. Leaving school and choosing a career or to undertake further education, is a major decision in the lives of all young people. There are enormous benefits of being able to talk to a qualified career adviser who can help young people work through their options and to identify their interests, strengths and goals”.
Mr Kynoch will receive $5,000 to assist him to study at post-graduate level which will upgrade his qualifications as a career adviser.
“This scholarship is an acknowledgement of the excellent work Mr Kynoch provides to many young people. I commend Mr Kynoch for achieving this scholarship and wish him well with his study,” Mr Tudge said.
